In an effort to streamline my web presence I’ve abandoned my old family history website and have replaced it with a blog. I maintain a family tree on Ancestry.ca so I have no intention of reproducing it here. If you would like to share information please contact me and I’ll send you an invite to view my Ancestry tree.
Talkin’ bout my Generations is exactly that. I was looking for a way to share my research and connect with others who may be researching the same individual or family. Although Ancestry provides connections they usually have to be Ancestry members to find you. Google can do a better job of making this information available to a wider audience.
The blog also lets me organize and present my research as I collect it. Even if no one else refers to it again I can. On more than one occasion I’ve experienced a deja vu moment only to discover that I had chased the same dead-end a year or two ago.
